Preview Evening at The Art Lounge

I’m still thinking about yesterday and the excellent evening I had at The Art Lounge in New Mills.  It was the Preview Evening for the exhibition ‘Reflections’ in which I had a piece of work.  I found out that over 80 artists had submitted work and it was clear from the exhibited work that this had made it easy for the organisers to maintain a high standard.  It was great fun rubbing shoulders with the other artists who were exhibiting, and with artists from New Mills.  I came away buzzing after all the positive comments about the artwork that I had exhibited.  Who knew New Mills had such a thriving art scene?

I particularly liked the abstract landscape below by artist Jacqui Priestly and liked it even more after meeting Jacqui herself.  She has exhibited all over the UK and is so engaged with what she is doing and the arts in general.  To see more of her work go to www.jacquipriestleyartist.com
